Taxonomy
Dentoceras belemnitiforme was named by Flower (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 118998, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 15851, east of Boles, which is in a Bashkirian marine shale in the Johns Valley Formation of Arkansas.
