Taxonomy
Muensteroceras pisiforme was named by Gordon (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 119489, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM 3301, East (Sequoyah) Mountain, which is in a Pendleian marine shale in the Fayetteville Formation of Arkansas.
