Reedops struveianus was named by Alberti (1983). It is not extant. Its type locality is Middle Pragian Marl (Unit 5a) at Ben Zireg, Bechar Basin, SW Algeria, which is in a Pragian offshore marl/limestone in the Saheb el Djir Formation of Algeria.
