It was recombined as Stropheodonta geniculata by Schuchert (1897); it was recombined as Douvillina (Mesodouvillina) geniculata by Waite (1956); it was recombined as Brachyprion (Eomegastrophia) geniculata by Sheehan (1980) and Sheehan (1982); it was recombined as Strophoprion geniculatum by Twenhofel (1928) and Dewing (1999).
