Taxonomy
Libycoceras crossense was named by Zaborski (1982). Its type specimen is BMNH C.82131, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fauna 12, 36.3-36.7 km from Calabar, south-east Nigeria, which is in a Campanian offshore shale in the Nkporo Shale Formation of Nigeria.
