Taxonomy
Terebratula borealis was named by Buch (1834). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Rhynchonella borealis by Davidson (1867); it was recombined as Camarotoechia borealis by St Joseph (1937) and Joseph (1937); it was recombined as Ferganella borealis by Nikiforova (1937), Sheehan (1976) and Sheehan (1982); it was considered a nomen nudum by Schlotheim (1832); it was recombined as Stegerhynchus borealis by Jin (1989) and Jin and Chatterton (1997).
