Phacops (Trimerocephalus) acuticeps was named by Kayser (1889). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Phacops (Cryphops) acuticeps by Richter and Richter (1926); it was recombined as Cryphops acuticeps by Chlupáč (1966); it was recombined as Acuticryphops acuticeps by Feist (2002), Weyer et al. (2003), Cronier et al. (2004), Feist et al. (2009) and Bault et al. (2021).

Feist et al. 2009Anteriorly large glabella, maximum width anterior to midlength of preoccipital glabella; S1 straight and short; L1 with small lateral lobes of half width of median lobe, anterior facial suture impressed below glabella; anterior border flush with overturned part of glabella; vincular furrow gently curved medially, postvincular area longer (sag.) than vincular furrow; pygidium moderately arched transversely with high, vaulted axis. Axial rings and pleurae well-defined.
