Mossamedites serratocarinatus
Taxonomy
Puzosia (Puzosia) serratocarinata was named by Kennedy and Cobban (1988). Its type specimen is TMM 1576TX15, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Texas Memorial Museum locality 17255, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Boquillas Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Mossamedites.
It was recombined as Mossamedites serratocarinatus by Cooper (2003).
