Taxonomy
Xysila was named by Copper (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: O Ashg-m S Ldov-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1179]. It is not extant. Its type is Xysila astaca.

It was assigned to Protozyginae by Copper (1995); to Protozygidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002).
