Neochetoceras steraspis

Taxonomy
Ammonites steraspis was named by Oppel (1863). Its type specimen is BSPM, AS unnumbered and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Langenaltheim quarry, which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Altmühltal Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Neochetoceras.

It was recombined as Neochetoceras steraspis by Myczynski (1989) and Schlegelmilch (1994).
