Taxonomy
Terebratula acuta was named by Sowerby (1816). It is the type species of Homoeorhynchia.

It was recombined as Homoeorhynchia acuta by Ager (1956), Ager (1967), Alméras and Fauré (2000) and Vörös (2009).
