Taxonomy
Spiriferina sicula was named by Gemmellaro (1874). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Liospiriferina angulata by Alméras and Fauré (2000); it was recombined as Liospiriferina sicula by Dulai (1992) and Vörös (2009).
