Taxonomy
Terebratula tetraedra was named by Sowerby (1812). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aynho, which is in a Spinatum carbonate limestone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Tetrarhynchia.

It was recombined as Tetrarhynchia tetraedra by Siblik (1967); it was recombined as Tetrarhynchia tetrahedra by Ager (1956) and Alméras and Fauré (2000).
