Taxonomy
Holcothyris perplicata was named by Sahni (1940). Its type specimen is GSI Type No. 16726 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Namhkai, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.
