Taxonomy
Oppelia (Oxycerites) chinitnana was named by Imlay (1953). Its type specimen is USNM 108018, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic 3029, Iniskin Bay, which is in a Callovian marine siliciclastic in the Chinitna Formation of Alaska.
