Taxonomy
Clisiophyllum buceros was named by Eichwald (1885). It is the type species of Grewingkia.

It was recombined as Streptelasma (Grewingkia) buceros by Kaljo (1961); it was recombined as Grewingkia buceros by Reiman (1958), Neuman (1969) and Elias (1981).
