Cypraea (Nucleolaria) was named by Oyama (1959) [m. kosnik taxon no: 7878]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Nucleolaria by Groves (1994), Meyer (2003) and Groves and Squires (2023).

It was assigned to Cypraea by Oyama (1959) and Wilson (1993); to Erosariini by Groves (1994); and to Erosariinae by Meyer (2003) and Groves and Squires (2023).
