Taxonomy
Meifodia tulkulensis was named by Modzalevskaya and Popov (1995). Its type specimen is 71/12889 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is VSEGEI Loc. 817 Akkerme Peninsula, Lake Balkhash, which is in a Rhuddanian carbonate limestone/mudstone in the Mynaral Formation of Kazakhstan.
