Taxonomy
Rhynchonella inversa was named by Oppel (1861).

It was recombined as Dielasma inversa by Etheridge (1898); it was recombined as Fletcherina inversa by Stehli (1961); it was considered a nomen dubium by Campbell (1965); it was recombined as Pisirhynchia inversa by Mancenido (1993) and Siblik (2008).
