Taxonomy
Clastoteuthis stantonensis was named by Lang (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH C.28861 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 112d, Lower Darker Band, Westhay Cliff, Charmouth, which is in a Jamesoni offshore marl in the Belemnite Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.
