Taxonomy
Passaloteuthis argillarum was named by Lang (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH C.28880 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 110b, 10 inches from top, Lower Darker Marl, Charmouth, which is in a Jamesoni offshore marl in the Belemnite Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.
