Taxonomy
Trochus anglicus was named by Sowerby (1818). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized objectively with Pleurotomaria similis by Cox (1928); it was recombined as Pleurotomaria anglica by Defrance (1826) and Szabo (1980).
