Taxonomy
Chlamys milvus was named by Cox (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH L.48650, a valve (left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 121, Belemnite Stone, Charmouth, which is in an Ibex offshore lime mudstone in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
