Taxonomy
Terebratula plicatilis was named by Sowerby (1816). Its type specimen is B.M. [B.61513] and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cretirhynchia (Cretirhynchia) plicatilis by Simon and Owen (2001); it was recombined as Cretirhynchia plicatilis by Pettitt (1950) and Gaspard and Odin (2001).
