Taxonomy
Rhynchonella coronata was named by Moore (1861). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ilminster, Upper Lias (Moore collection), which is in a Toarcian carbonate limestone in the Beacon Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Holcorhynchia coronata by Ager (1967).
