Taxonomy
Ammonites debilis was named by Hauer (1846).

It was recombined as Phylloceras debile by von Mojsisovics (1873); it was recombined as Rhacophyllites debilis by von Mojsisovics (1902), Wiedmann (1970), Liang (1977), Vavilov and Arkadiev (1986), Shevyrev (1990), Rakús (1993), Tozer (1994) and Shevyrev (1995).
