Taxonomy
Pinacoceras trochoides was named by von Mojsisovics (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Raschberg, beds with Trachyceras aonoides, which is in a Julian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
