Phloioceras gemmatum
Taxonomy
Nautilus gemmatus was named by von Mojsisovics (1873). Its type specimen is OLML 2012/37, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Röthelstein, upper layer with Trachyceras austriacum, which is in a Julian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Trematodiscus gemmatus by von Mojsisovics (1882); it was recombined as Phloioceras gemmatum by von Mojsisovics (1902), Schastlivtseva (1988) and Tatzreiter and Zorn (2013).
