Hyattites praefloridus
Taxonomy
Pinacoceras praefloridum was named by von Mojsisovics (1873). Its type specimen is GBA 1873/005/0077, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Röthelstein, lower layer with Arcestes ellipticus, which is in a Julian carbonate limestone/limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Meekoceras praefloridum by von Mojsisovics (1882); it was recombined as Hyattites praefloridus by von Mojsisovics (1902), Spath (1951) and Tatzreiter and Zorn (2013).
