Arcestes monachus
Taxonomy
Arcestes monachus was named by von Mojsisovics (1875). Its type specimen is GBA 1875/008/0048, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Someraukogel, beds with Trachyceras bicrenatum, which is in an Alaunian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
