Taxonomy
Arcestes cylindroides was named by von Mojsisovics (1875). Its type specimen is GBA 1875/008/0059, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sandling, red Gastropoden beds, which is in a Lacian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
