Taxonomy
Pteroperna reticularis was named by Parnes (1980). Its type specimen is M-5490c and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Makhtesh Ramon (Ardon Formation), which is in a Pliensbachian carbonate dolomite in the Ardon Formation of Israel.
