Taxonomy
Argiope costulata was named by Seguenza (1866). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Argyrotheca cuneata by Bitner (1990); it was recombined as Argyrotheca costulata by Popiel-Barczyk and Barczyk (1990).
