Mandagomphodon hirschsoni
Taxonomy
Scalenodon hirschsoni was named by Crompton (1972). Its type specimen is BMNH R8577, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is U12, 0.5 km north Hita stream, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Manda Beds Formation of Tanzania. It is the type species of Mandagomphodon.
It was recombined as Mandagomphodon hirschsoni by Hopson (2013).
