Elrodoceras blakei

Taxonomy
Actinoceras blakei was named by Foord (1888) [= Orthoceras (Actinoceras) cochleatum Blake 161 pl. 15 f. 7, not f. 8]. Its type specimen is BMNH C48745, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gwernyfed, near Builth, which is in a Telychian carbonate horizon in the United Arab Emirates.

It was recombined as Elrodoceras blakei by Holland (1998); it was recombined as Elrodooceras blakei by Holland and Copper (2008).

C. H. Holland 1998Orthocone with low rate of increase. Septa strongly concave. Cameral depth about 25 per cent of diameter. Siphuncle sub-central. Endosiphuncular deposits with shape as for genus, their width less than twice their lengths. Radial divisions.
