Taxonomy
Burmirhynchia gutta was named by Buckman (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nashy, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar. It is the type species of Burmirhynchia, Burmirhynchia (Burmirhynchia).

It was recombined as Burmirhynchia (Burmirhynchia) gutta by Shi and Grant (1993).
