Silpha ramosa was named by Say (1823). It is extant.

It was recombined as Silpha (Heterosilpha) ramosa by Pierce (1949); it was recombined as Heterosilpha ramosa by Miller and Peck (1979), Böcher (1995) and Ashworth and Nelson (2014).
