Taxonomy
Paurorthis inopinatus was named by Baarli (1988) [?Paurorthis inopinatus]. Its type specimen is PMO 109731, a shell (mould of brachial valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vakås, 9-11 meters above base of Myren Member, which is in a Rhuddanian marine mudstone/siltstone in the Solvik Formation of Norway.

Moderately developed median ridge. and long elongate posterior muscle scars lying laterally to anterior scars in brachial valve.
