Dicoelosia alticavata
Taxonomy
Bilobites alticavatus was named by Whittard and Barker (1950). Its type specimen is GSM 82551, a valve (conjoined valves), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shropshire, Purple Shale, which is in a Telychian marine shale/limestone in the Purple Shale Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Dicoelosia alticavata by Wright (1968), Boucot et al. (1988) and Baarli (1988).
