Lissajousithyris was named by Alméras (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-l J Bajo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 872,882]. It is not extant. Its type is Lissajousithyris matisconensis. It is the type genus of Lissajousithyridinae, Lissajousithyrididae.
It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lissajousithyridinae by Williams et al. (2006).
