Taxonomy
Palaeomyrmecolax succineus was named by Kulicka (2001). Its type specimen is MZ 16321, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
