Balanus sookensis was named by Cornwall (1927). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Balanus (Hesperibalanus) sookensis by Zullo (1966); it was recombined as Solidobalanus (Hesperibalanus) sookensis by Zullo (1982).
