Jaegerscalpellum comptum
Taxonomy
Scalpellum comptum was named by Withers (1910). Its type specimen is BMNH I.13403, an other (left tergum), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sevenoaks (Caleb Evans collection), which is in an Aptian marine sandstone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Scalpellum (Arcoscalpellum) comptum by Withers (1935); it was recombined as Arcoscalpellum comptum by Withers (1946) and Carriol and Collins (2000); it was recombined as Arcuatoscalpellum comptum by Gale (2016); it was recombined as Jaegerscalpellum comptum by Gale (2019).
