Taxonomy
Tamiosoma advena was named by Zullo (1992). Its type specimen is UF 45780, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UNCW Loc. Z-925 - Handgen (=Lomax King) Quarry [Tamiami Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal sandstone in the Tamiami Formation of Florida.
