Taxonomy
Terebratulites umbraculum was named by von Schlotheim (1820).

It was recombined as Streptorhynchus umbraculum by Cottreau (1940); it was recombined as Schellwienella umbracula by Le Maitre (1952); it was recombined as Schuchertella umbracula by Sougy (1964); it was recombined as Xystostrophia umbraculum by Havlicek (1965) and Halamski and Baliñski (2013).
