Miogryphus was named by Hertlein and Grant (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi Sepkoski's reference number: 1,882]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Terebratellidina by Williams et al. (2007).
