Taxonomy
Gusarella was named by Prozorovskaja (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath-u J Tith Sepkoski's reference number: 1]. Its type is Zeilleria gusarensis. It is the type genus of Gusarellidae.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gusarellidae by Williams et al. (2006).
