Taxonomy
Eomyza holoptera was named by Cockerell (1924). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Roan Mountains, near top of ridge just beyond Ute trail ridge, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large diatomite in the Green River Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Eomyza.
