Taxonomy
Rhynchonella batalleri was named by Dubar (1931).

It was recombined as Homoeorhynchia meridionalis batalleri by Dunbar (1931) and Gahr (2002); it was recombined as Pseudogibbirhynchia batalleri by Delance (1969); it was recombined as Homoeorhynchia batalleri by Alméras (1996), Alméras et al. (1996), Alméras and Fauré (2000), Alméras et al. (2007) and Fauré et al. (2015).
