Taxonomy
Orthis infera was named by Calvin (1878). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Stainbrookia.

It was recombined as Aulacella infera by Stainbrook (1945); it was recombined as Stainbrookia infera by Cooper and Dutro (1982).
